Hook & Line Educator Fellowship
The Hook & Line Educator Fellowship is a professional development program set to take place in Mebane this October. This educator fellowship brings together music, art, heritage, and history to enrich your understanding of our community’s history and heritage and build connections to your classroom practice. This program is open to K-12 educators in any discipline who are currently teaching in Alamance or Orange County.
This fellowship program has limited spaces and a quick turnaround time. If you are interested in applying, please complete the form linked here no later than Sunday, September 28th, at 5 pm.
What is it?
Operating in conjunction with the City of Mebane’s upcoming Hook & Line – Thompson Music & Arts Heritage Festival, scheduled for October 10-11, 2025, the Hook & Line Educator Fellowship aims to enhance educators’ knowledge of local musicians and music histories as well as expand educators’ pedagogical toolkits for integrating music and art into their curricula. The integration of the arts across the curriculum enables students to engage in rich textual analysis of diverse, interdisciplinary primary source materials. This, in turn, will enable local educators to enrich their students’ understanding of and appreciation for the unique musical heritage of their community.
