
A Weekend Celebration of Music, Art, & Story

Hook & LineāThe Thompson Music & Arts Heritage Festival will celebrate the musical legacy of world-renowned Thompson first-cousins Odell Thompson (1911-1994) and Joe Thompson (1918-2012).
Join us in Mebane, NC, for a weekend of music, art, dance, and memory. The event will include a cavalcade of touring and community musicians, headed by Grammy & Pulitzer Prize-winning musician, recording artist, and music scholar Rhiannon Giddens, celebrating music in the community and the concert spirit of Odell and Joe (pictured here).

Honoring Our History & Our Future Through Community and Creative Expression
Music

Join us on Saturday, October 11, at the Fiddler Stage at Mebane Community Park, featuring community and touring musicians, as well as informal music sessions throughout the park grounds.

Dance
Put on your dancing shoes for the community square dance on Friday, October 10, at the Mebane Arts & Community Center! Enjoy square and circle dances led by Ruth Pershing and special guests, with live music provided by Blue Star Travelers.
Visual Art

The Festival is sponsoring a multi-site group art exhibition celebrating traditional music’s inspiration for visual art, beginning September 14 and running through November 8 at sites in Alamance County.
